The task

Wigo4it, the ICT service provider for social services of the four largest municipalities (G4), had the ambition to create a modern work environment that promotes collaboration and innovation. The new office had to be designed according to the 'metropolitan' concept, where different zones (district, neighborhood, square, park) support the diversity of working methods, from collaborating and meeting to working individually and focused. In addition, the design had to provide space for external start-ups and contribute to social goals through a social return project.

Modern office with glass walls, a long wooden table with brown chairs and a man working at a desk in an open space.

About this project

Wigo4it's new office is located in the Stichthage building, directly above The Hague Central Station. This location offers a strategic connection and an impressive view of the Malieveld and the city of The Hague. The robust building, originally built in 1972, with large and deep floors, has been completely stripped and refurbished to create an open and contemporary work environment.

The design

The metropolis concept has been translated into a flexible work environment in which different zones are clearly defined. Transparent, free-standing units add structure to the open floor plan. Colourful graphic accents on floors and walls mark the meeting areas within these units, giving each zone its own character. This design not only promotes a modern look, but also supports interaction between teams and encourages knowledge sharing, an important ambition of Wigo4it.

The office also offers space for external start-ups. This choice provides a dynamic and innovative work environment, where fresh ideas from external parties enrich the organization. This is in line with Wigo4it's goal to be a customer-focused, efficient and innovative ICT partner for the G4.

Social return

A special aspect of the project is the use of a social return program. Part of the interior was realized with the help of people with a distance from the labor market. This not only gives the project social added value, but also offers opportunities for inclusion and participation in society.
