Hybrid office environment with vibrant clubhouse
The task
The Royal Dutch Professional Organization of Accountants (NBA) asked ZENBER Architects to design a new office environment in the sustainable Pharos building in Hoofddorp. The goal was to create a hybrid workplace and clubhouse where meeting, collaborating and sharing knowledge are key. The space had to be functional and inviting, with a clear focus on sustainability and the identity of the NBA.
“The clubhouse brings encounter and inspiration together.”
About this project
The NBA's new office is divided into three zones: the clubhouse, it meeting center and the hybrid office environment. The design supports both formal and informal interactions and provides an inspiring work environment for employees, members, and visitors.
Clubhouse: the heart of the work environment
The clubhouse is the dynamic center of the office, designed to bring employees, members and visitors together in an informal atmosphere. An organically designed coffee bar forms the center of the space, which also offers various seating and meeting areas. This zone acts as a place for spontaneous meetings, relaxation and informal meetings.
Meeting center: flexible and multifunctional
The meeting center offers flexible spaces that are suitable for a variety of activities. From intimate meetings to major events such as the taking of the professional oath by new accountants, the spaces can be easily combined or adapted.
“Flexible and sustainable spaces encourage collaboration.”

Hybrid office environment: room for flexibility
The workplaces are located around a central meeting square surrounded by green courtyards and organically shaped volumes. The hybrid office environment offers various workplaces, such as hybrid meeting rooms, brainstorming zones and creative meeting spaces. This design supports both individual work and collaboration and encourages productivity and innovation.
Identity and Sustainability
The NBA's identity is clearly visible in the interior. Colors, materials and illustrations have been carefully chosen to represent the organization's values. In addition, sustainability was an important starting point in the design. The office uses:
- Recycled furniture
- CO2-neutral wall finish
- Indoor gardens with daylight lights
- Energy efficient materials
