The task

The Rabobank Gelderse Vallei ordered a new design for their headquarters in Barneveld. The goal was to create a representative and hospitable environment where customers can be received in a contemporary and efficient way. In addition, the design had to optimize the work environment on the floors by maximizing the number of workplaces and in line with the principles of The New Way of Working. Sustainability and responsible use of materials played a central role in the design vision.

About this project

ZENBER Architects has designed a multifunctional and sustainable interior for the headquarters of the Rabobank Gelderse Vallei. The design focuses on both customer focus and efficiency, with the ground floor acting as a modern customer zone. This space offers various facilities, including meeting rooms, a work café and a presentation room. This layout enables employees to optimally serve customers in a representative environment.

On the upper floors, the design is aimed at maximizing the number of workplaces, without losing sight of the comfort and functionality of the work environment. The principles of The New Way of Working have guided this, so that flexibility and cooperation are central to the design.

Sustainability and responsible use of materials

Sustainability was an important starting point when it came to the refurbishment. Many of the materials and products used have been recycled or designed for reuse in the future. For example, the felt panels on the walls and baffles of the bluebox are made from recycled plastic bottles. In the future, this material can be recycled again for other applications. The rug has a Cradle to Cradle® Silver certification and contains 100% regenerated nylon yarn made from recycled waste such as fishing nets and old carpets.

Existing furniture has been reused and revitalized as much as possible, which is not only sustainable but also saves costs. In addition, various products and services are locally involved, which strengthens the connection with the Gelderse Vallei region.
